History of the Krewe of Centurions
The Krewe of Centurions was established in 1979 by a partnership of businessmen from the Harahan-River Ridge area (suburbs of New Orleans, LA). After a few years of parading, Centurions moved to its current Metairie route. Centurions long history and tradition of parading is just one of the many reasons that keep people coming back. One of the greatest aspects of the Centurions parade is our dedication to making it a memorable experience both on parade day and throughout the year. Now a mixed group of both women and men, members are entertained with several events throughout the year from crawfish boils, baseball outings, tailgates and more. The more than 300 member group strive to make Centurions an organization for all; that is, a fun, family-friendly experience. The Krewe of Centurions has quickly become one of the best Mardi Gras Krewes (social clubs) in the Greater New Orleans area.
